Salvation

Salvation

How do we receive the Lord?

Ephesians 2:8

For by grace you have been saved through faith; not of yourselves, it is the gift of God.

John 3:16

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Romans 10:13

Those that call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.

Your faith must be in the finished work of Christ; our trust and hope is in Christ alone.

The process of receiving Christ into your heart:

  • With sincerity of heart, confess your sins to God and ask Him to forgive your sins in Jesus' name.
  • Rest and trust in the finished work of Christ--when He hung on the cross for your salvation.
  • Confess with your mouth that Jesus died for our sins and rose from the grave.
  • Ask Christ to come into your heart and be your Lord and Savior.
  • By faith surrender and commit all that you are to Jesus Christ.
  • Repent, that is to turn away, of your sins and turn to God.

Pray this prayer and mean it from your heart:

Father, I call on your name and I confess that I’m a sinner and I need you in my life.

I believe in my heart and confess with my mouth that Jesus died for my sins and rose from the grave.

Jesus, come into my heart. Be my Lord, my Master, and my Savior.

I commit my life to you now, in Jesus' Name.

-Amen
